Nexon Red, mergers Ndoors for better efficiency

Nexon GT made a public announcement of a merger between its subsidiary Nexon Red and Ndoors on January 23. The news comes about a month after public disclosure of purchase of Ndoors' stake on December 28 last year.

According to the announcement, Nexon Red swallows Ndoors to improve business efficiency. Ndoors will be destined to be history after the two complete the merger. The exchange ratio is 1 to 0.

The merger between the two game companies was expected when Nexon GT bought 100 percent (1,880 shares) stake of Ndoors for 6.58 billion won from its parent company Nexon on December 28 last year. The takeover was considered as a decision for the leading game developer to improve its physical strength.

Ndoors is a game developer which released Atlantica Online, Heroes of Three Kingdoms Online, and mobile RTS King's Command etc. It was in the spotlight making mobile MMORPG Legion of Heroes a hit.

However, its performance had constantly worsened since then and the situation got worse discontinuing most of its game services. The soon-to-be acquired firm became a game development studio last year experiencing a reshuffle.

Nexon Red, the acquiring firm, is the hottest one among Nexon affiliates thanks to its successful mobile MMORPG AxE(Alliance x Empire) which was launched last year. AxE is still popular with Overhit keeping their place in the highest ranks on the Top Grossing.

When the decision on the takeover was reached, Nexon Red CEO Kim Dae Hwon said, "Ndoors is a company with extraordinary expertise and accumulated experience in PC online and mobile game development for last 10 years." He adds, “If Nexon Red and Ndoors cooperate with each other, we will be able to create the best synergy in various areas when we develop new titles and robust live game operations."
