It has been more than 200 days since 'Eos Red' was released in South Korea. The company's initial goal of “being a thin and long-lasting game” has been completed, and the foundation for long-term service has been laid.
'Eos Red' is Blue Potion Games' mobile MMORPG. It is similar with first-generation MMORPGs. The game was released in South Korea in August 2019. In September 2019, the game ranked the second in Google Play game sales ranking.
Recently, Blue Potion Games has added the Siege warfare. New continents and jobs will be added in the second quarter. Shin Hyun-geun, the CEO of Blue Potion Games, said, "It will be a more interesting game when the new contents are added."
Q. It has been 200 days since Eos Red was released in South Korea. Please tell me your achievements so far.
“Eos Red was released on August 28, 2019 at Google Play in South Korea. The game became popular in South Korea shortly after the game was released, and it ranked second in Google Play game sales ranking. And for a considerable period of time, it ranked within the top 10 in Google Play game sales ranking. All thanks to the users. Recently, with the launch of major mobile games, the sales ranking has dropped somewhat, but there are still a lot of users who are constantly playing it. Most importantly, the foundation has been laid for long-term service."
Q. When ‘EOS Red’ was released, ‘protecting the value of items’ was one of the important principles. Is this principle still maintained today?
"Yes. Since the launch of ‘EOS Red’, ‘protecting the value of items’ has been maintained as the first principle of development and operation. It is always the first principle we are considering when developing, including the upcoming 'Episode 2', and will not change in the future. Of course, we are considering content for returning users who are burdened with level-up. We plan to conduct large-scale marketing to attract new users, and we will consider and show ways to help returning users.”
Q. It seems to be getting closer to the ‘lethal MMORPG’ that was introduced in the early days.
“It is a game that promotes free market economy, competition and cooperation, which are the hallmarks of authentic MMORPGs. I expected the user to freely create rules. It's running much better than we expected. This is a very positive aspect. We will try to create an environment in which more diverse stories can be created."
Q. Content to be added in 2020 has been released. Please tell me about those.
“First, Siege warfare is the end-game content of 'Eos Red'. The factors of market economy, competition, and cooperation are well combined.
The new continent is the sixth new continent, 'Polyce'. Since it is a continent that occupied a large portion in the original work, it is also an important place in 'Eos Red', which painted the world after 50 years.
New jobs will be added. It is a ' Rogue' that boasted of spectacular attacks. Balance work is underway to make use of the characteristics of a thief and dissolve it in 'Eos Red'.
'Crossworld' and 'Lord warfare' are content that competes or cooperates with other server users. The concept is to select the best server through server-to-server battles. After the release of 'Episode 2', it will be released in stages.
We are implicitly embedding in the world map so that users can imagine the direction to keep updating. Before revealing the new continent, I put a port hidden in the clouds on the world map. You can see this in the blue hole in the bottom of the world map and the clouds in the top.

Q. I wonder why you divide RvR contents into two different contents.
“The guild content we are aiming for is to embody the politics and economy of the monarchy in the game. The small-scale guilds possessed the province's estates and wanted to embody the political and economic domination of the central political power. When the official Siege Battle begins, the system of Yeongji Battle and Siege Battle will be connected to become more interesting guild content.
Since then, the political and economic governance system will be continuously expanded and upgraded to develop into a system that connects the most complete war in Korea with political and economic systems. In the future, we plan to develop even the lords of each world who compete with each other.”
Q. Blue Potion Games mentioned at the last user round-up conference that 'We avoid sports like PvP and seek to get rewarded as user fight fiercely'.
“The ‘Yeongjijeon’ and Siege warfare is not for short-term battle. Based on the strategy between guilds from bidding to combat, we are aiming for large-scale battles where competition and cooperation are important. The siege map in which siege progresses is also configured to allow strategic battles to take place, and the battle time also lasts for 1 hour. Of course, there are also strategic rules to win in a shorter time. As the rewards of a victorious siege is strong, a strategy based on competition and cooperation from bidding to combat will become more important."

Q. What role will Rogue play in PvP, Yeongjijeon, and Siege warfare?
“It is a style of attacking monsters or opponents with a short-range attack based on innate short-range evasion and high attack power. Because of this style of battle, it is expected that it will play an important role in PK, Yeongjijeon and Siege rather than field or dungeon hunting. It has the characteristic of adding an additional debuff effect when combined combat with other classes, so it will be a character that plays an important role in the battle.”
Q. Recently, you announced its entry plan into overseas markets such as Taiwan and Hong Kong. Would there be any problem in developing new content in the future?
“The first thing I considered when reviewing overseas expansion was the idea that the quality of Korean services should not deteriorate. So, what we thought was to release it directly to foreign countries. In addition, the first decision to release in Taiwan is because Taiwanese users' play style is similar to Korea.
Currently, the Taiwanese version has been recruited and prepared, but there is no need to hurry to launch abroad. We will do our best for the Korean service, and we will carry out localization work in the overseas version organization in charge."
