NEXON's latest title, The First Descendant, officially launched its Season 1 update on August 29, sparking interest among players with new content like "Invasion" and introducing a new Descendant, Hailey.

The First Descendant, a new looter-shooter game from NEXON, officially launched on July 2nd. By blending the genres of farming and shooting, the game aimed to reach a global audience with its unique combination of loot acquisition and intense combat. The game's first month was successful, receiving positive feedback from players worldwide.

With the conclusion of the preseason, The First Descendant revealed its next wave of content on August 29. Along with the start of Season 1, several new elements were introduced, including the anticipated new Descendant Hailey and the Ultimate Descendant Ultimate Freyna, which drew significant attention.

The newly updated Descendant, Hailey Scott, is a long-range DPS who wields an anti-materiel sniper cannon made of frozen moisture. She stands out with a skill set focused on Chill-infused beams and bullets, offering a unique gameplay experience compared to existing Descendants. By using her unique weapon, players can achieve significant damage boosts.

Hailey, the youngest member of the 33rd Sniper Squad, wields the Piercing Spike with exceptional skill. This unique weapon, too large to be called a rifle yet too precise to be classified as a cannon, was developed exclusively for her. When combined with her signature Arche, a super-cooled cryogenic substance, the Piercing Spike unleashes devastating firepower, capable of piercing through the toughest enemy armor.

Hailey's passive skill, Safe Strategic Retreat, grants her a distance-based Weak Point damage bonus. The farther she is from enemies, the more damage she deals to their weak points. Conversely, the closer she gets, the less effective her weak point attacks become. Therefore, maintaining distance is crucial to maximizing her combat effectiveness.

Her active skill set consists of four abilities. The core skill, Cryo Round, inflicts a freezing effect on enemies, allowing for higher damage output. When activated, Hailey fires a cryogenic round that freezes enemies, making them susceptible to additional damage when hit by weapon attacks.

Storm Snare is a defensive skill where Hailey unleashes a cold whirlwind that knocks back enemies and fires a large freezing beam, applying a cryogenic effect. This allows for follow-up attacks that deal massive damage to frozen enemies.

Cold Fury is a skill that becomes more powerful as it stacks. Although it slows down Hailey's movement speed, each second adds stacks that significantly increase critical hit chance and weapon penetration. 

When Cold Fury is fully stacked, Hailey becomes immune to knockdowns. It also boosts her critical hit damage for weapons and skills, making it a great skill for holding your ground and taking out long-range enemies.

Her most powerful skill, Zenith, makes full use of Hailey's unique weapon. When she hits enemies with her special weapon, her penetration and damage output increase dramatically, with additional Chill damage applied. Successful weak point attacks also restore a portion of MP.

Additionally, when using Zenith, the cooldown can be partially reduced depending on the number of fired bullets, requiring players to strategically manage its use.

To craft the new Descendant Hailey, players will need to farm essential materials. Completing the new Invasion content, introduced with Season 1, guarantees one of Hailey's research materials. The faster players complete this content, the more materials they can obtain as bonuses.

Besides the limited Invasion mode, Hailey's research materials can be acquired by defeating monsters in Hard Infiltration Operations. Although farming all the required materials will take considerable time, persistent players might progress quickly through the crafting process if lucky.
