The South Korean game company, Netmarble, became the biggest player in the South Korean game industry in 2017 with the success of mobile game 'Lineage 2 Revolution'. However, Netmarble did not release a new game in the first quarter of 2018. Instead, Netmarble maintained. Park Sung-hoon has become the new Co-CEO and handles strategy and investment. Another Co-CEO Kwon Young Sik handles game business.

And Netmarble changed its name from ‘Netmarble games’ to ‘Netmarble’ at its shareholders' meeting held in March. Netmarble also added few things to its purpose of the business - artificial intelligence research and development, blockchain research and development, augmented reality research and development, and music business. At Netmarble Japan, Endo Yuji has joined the company as Co-CEO. And Jam City, a subsidiary of Netmarble, acquired 'Brainz', a Bogota, Colombia-based mobile game developer.

Now, new games of Netmarble are coming. On April 13th, the fishing game 'Fishing Strike' was launched in 251 countries around the world. On April 25, Jam City will release the ‘Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery’ in North America. This game is co-developed by Jam City and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

One of Netmarble’s 2018 new line up, ‘Iron Throne' will be released in May. This game is a strategy game, with RPG elements added. New information about this game has been released today at the press conference. Netmarble prepared this game for the global market.

The game, which is based on the popular South Korean band ‘Bangtan Boys’, is also expected to be released in the first half of 2018. This is a game in which a user becomes a manager and manages members of ‘Bangtan Boys’. There are more than 10,000 pictures of ‘Bangtan Boys’ in this game. When Netmarble Chairman Bang Jun-hyuk introduced this game, he said, "I believe that we have to combine different types of mass media. In particular, I think that games should be combined with drama and music"

In addition, Netmarble is preparing mobile games of various genres such as MMORPG, card game, strategy game, and adventure game - ‘King of Fighters All-Star’, ‘Stone Age MMORPG’, ‘Blade & Soul Revolution’, ‘Seven Knights 2’, ‘Icarus M’, ‘Magic the Gathering M’. The release dates of these games have not been revealed yet. However, they are expected to be launched or tested in 2018, because Netmarble showed them off as its 2018 line-ups.
