Amidst the rolling out of a variety of new titles, NEXON has been drawing attention for focusing on RPGs armed with a substantial quality of gameplay.

NEXON recently revealed a series of significant RPGs centered on console game mechanics. Last year-end, they unveiled the “Dungeon & Fighter” universe game “The First Berserker: Khazan” (hereafter “Khazan)” and conducted a Focus Group Test (FGT) last month to validate the game's features with players.

They have also surprised the industry with the reveal of a new title based on “Mabinogi Heroes”, called “Vindictus: Defying Fate.” The game, unveiled on the PC game platform Steam, shared details along with the news that it would soon enter the testing stage.

“Khazan” is a soul-like genre new title being developed by NEOPLE. After going through various project versions, the game has been refined, while transitioning to a soul-like genre in an open world, with the game name of “Khazan” being finalized.

Interest in the game became concentrated during last month’s FGT. With a competition ratio of 400-to-1, many players were eager to experience the game first-hand. After the three-day test, most of the participants left positive feedback, raising expectations for the game.

In the test, the game's defining characteristics of soul-like action were examined, with the users reviewing the impact and core aspects such as action. As a result, the users gave the highest scores to the game’s action, while the art style and background music also saw an over 80% satisfaction rating.

NEXON and NEOPLE are planning to use the results of the FGT to enhance the game's quality and to establish “Khazan's” unique action and narrative style. The gameplay and stories linked to “Dungeon & Fighter” are expected to have a positive influence on the course of “Khazan,” generating significant interest.

“Vindictus: Defying Fate” is a new title that follows on from NEXON's flagship “Mabinogi Heroes,” which was unexpectedly revealed last week. Familiar characters and names are visible, but the game that has been newly developed with Unreal Engine, promising fresh narratives and stories, has piqued curiosity.

The game has chosen to follow a different path from the original “Mabinogi Heroes.” It’s based on single-player gameplay with a heavier action style, and while the concept and image basis may remain the same, “Vindictus: Defying Fate” is being developed as an entirely new game.

Alongside the game's unveiling, the first alpha test schedule was released. Anyone can access the game from March 14th to 18th, with tests available for basic character movement and action, main graphics, and environmental surroundings.

Furthermore, the upcoming “The First Descendant” by NEXON Games is adding significant weight to NEXON's new lineup. Set to be officially released this summer, the game is in the final stages of development following its open beta test, with further details expected to be shared soon.

“The First Descendant” incorporates RPG elements into a looter shooter genre. It offers a game style where players can grow within the game by battling giant bosses and by using dozens of types of weapons and modules based on the diverse range of characters. The test attracted 2 million users, confirmed the anticipation for the game, and NEXON is planning to properly present the unique gameplay of “The First Descendant.”

A common feature among NEXON's new lineups is the gameplay and heavy atmosphere aimed at the Western and console markets. While the company’s subsidiary MINTROCKET has been showcasing a variety of challenging titles, NEXON is strengthening its own lineup, ensuring a fantastic lineup of major titles that combine the fun of gaming, just like before. The community is eagerly anticipating the steps these new titles will take in the future.
