But now, people who buy these items are moving to online markets. As a result, domestic IT companies and distributors that did not survive in Yongsan are having a difficult time.

In 2020, the market was frozen by the COVID-19. More recently, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has boosted raw material prices. As a result, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) went out of business.

In this crisis, Gamevu interviewed Cha Choong-hwan, CEO of Qnix, which manufactures and distributes computer monitors, computer cases, air purifiers and TVs.

Q. Qnix has been doing business in South Korea for over 15 years. Please introduce Qnix.

CEO Cha Choong-hwan: I remember a lot of things. The tension when we first planned the monitor and launched it on the market cannot be expressed in words. When we made our first monitors, we tried to create innovative products based on the needs and trends of the market.

As a result, an optimized bypass type board was developed. Products to which this is applied have been recognized for excellence in various countries around the world. Thanks to this, we achieved the No. 1 spot in monitor sales in eBay Korea in 2014.

Even after that, we worked hard to create innovative products. As a result, we launched South Korea's first Android monitor. And we launched the world's first UHD 40 curved monitor.

From 2020, the company has launched power supplies, SSDs, and high-end PC cases. And we entered the small home appliance business. So far, we have released two types of air purifiers, and in 2022, we are working on a TV business.

Q. In 2020, COVID-19 spread all over the world. In 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and the price of raw materials rose.

CEO Cha Choong-hwan: All small and medium-sized enterprises are going through a difficult time. Qnix is ​​investing more actively in new product development.

We are trying to overcome difficult times by promoting aggressive sales. In the PC-station market, we have built a lineup of low-end and high-end monitors such as the optimized 32-inch 'QX327F 180 tempered glass', 'QX324G REAL 240 HDR tempered glass', and 'QX32QHD REAL 165 tempered glass'.

In addition, with the launch of South Korea's first high-end mirroring-type Infinity Case series, it is giving a radical change to the personal and PC-station environments that require differentiation.

Q. What are the main products of the Qnix?

CEO Cha Choong-hwan: There are gaming monitors 'QX24T1 REAL 144', 'QX2716 REAL 165 HDR PLUS', 'QX32G REAL 240 HDR', 'QX27QHD REAL 165 pivot', 'QX32QHD REAL 165 pivot', and 'QX431U 4K IPS HDR'.

Computer cases include 'Infinity M White', 'Infinity M Pink High-End Mirroring Gaming CASE', and rated power supplies for PC rooms and other product categories.

Lastly, 32-inch, 40-inch, and 43-inch TVs were launched as an entry-level TV group that was newly launched in 22 years.

In particular, the UHD 43-inch product is a product for enthusiasts such as stocks, console games, design, and movies. At the same time, high-end monitors with multi-stands capable of pivot, elevation, tilt, and swivel, as well as low-end 24-inch and 27-inch monitors were also released.

Q. Most of the factories of South Korean companies are located in China. For South Korea, relations with China are very important. What do you want from the South Korean government?

CEO Cha Choong-hwan: I think we need a lot of support. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, transportation costs have quadrupled, and additional costs are being incurred due to the rise in raw materials.

Government support for imports and exports declined. This is because the budget is focused on COVID-19. We hope that the government will review the SME support policy as soon as possible so that small business owners and SMEs can return to pre-COVID-19.

CEO Cha Choong-hwan: A new monitor will also be released in 2022. High-end monitors, C-type monitors applied with the latest trends, low-end monitors, and touch-applied business monitors will be released.

In the TV business, UHD 50-98-inch and Android TV lineup will be released.

Q. Lastly, what would you say to your customers?

CEO Cha Choong-hwan: I hope that COVID-19 will disappear quickly. We look forward to creating a place where we can meet customers quickly through various events and events that have not been held for a long time. While communicating with customers, we want to create differentiated products by sharing what we lacked and what customers want. We wish all Qnix customers good health until that day comes.
