NCSOFT is embarking on the construction of a new headquarters, estimated to cost 580 Billion KRW. Additionally, cash dividends are being distributed to enhance the company’s shareholder value.

On the 7th, NCSOFT announced that it is proceeding with new investments for the establishment of the “Global Research and Development Innovation (RDI) Center” (tentative name). The investment amounts to 580 billion KRW, representing a large-scale project that will account for 18.1% of NCSOFT's equity. Regarding the purpose of the investment, NCSOFT stated that it aims to enhance its operational efficiency and secure a stable working space.

The location for the new headquarters is on the site adjacent to NCSOFT's current headquarters, the Pangyo R&D Center. It is located at Sampyeong-dong 641, and was acquired from Seongnam City on March 24, 2023, with an area of 25,719.9 square meters.

The amount mentioned includes the construction costs, as well as the electrical and information communication works, excluding value-added tax and the acquisition’s incidental expenses. Therefore, it is expected to be a large-scale project requiring an investment of at least 600 billion.

NCSOFT signed the contract for this site in 2021. It was signed by the NCSOFT consortium consisting of NCSOFT, Samsung C&T, POBA, and Mirae Asset Global Investments. NCSOFT disclosed that it will utilize half of the total land. The building is planned to have 9 underground floors and 14 above-ground floors.

Initially, the designing of the new headquarters was planned to commence in the second quarter of 2021, with its completion targeted for 2026. From the design stage, the primary aim is to construct a top-level environmentally-friendly building.

According to NCSOFT, administrative procedures have been followed since the contract was signed, and groundbreaking was scheduled for last year, but the final coordination has only just now been completed, leading to full-fledged progress. Consequently, the construction will begin in earnest from April, with the goal of completing the investment by the end of September 2027.

In addition, alongside the announcement of the investment in the new headquarters, NCSOFT revealed its cash dividend plan. The dividends per share are 3,130KRW, with a dividend yield of 1.3%. The total amount of dividends is 63.5 billion KRW. Dividends are scheduled to be paid on April 26th, with the aim of enhancing the shareholder value through this initiative.
