Wemade Revamps YMIR Global’s Kingdom System: “Everyone Becomes a Lord”

Wemade has officially announced a major expansion of the Partner’s Server Program for its MMORPG Legend of YMIR Global, which is currently available in overseas markets. The expansion aims to further intensify player competition as the game continues to experience steady growth in concurrent users.

Seok Hoon, CEO and Executive Producer of Wemade XR, shared upcoming content plans in a recently published developer note. He remarked, “We are working toward a much greater future,” adding, “Opportunities will come to everyone, but only a few will be able to seize them.”

The key highlight of this expansion is the introduction of a three-tier structure to the Partner’s Server Program, which had previously been limited to large-scale servers. Alongside the existing auction-selected Partner’s ORIGIN server, two new servers—Partner’s LITE and Partner’s MINI—will be added.

This expansion creates a foundation for mid-sized streamers, communities, and even individual players to establish their own kingdoms. Seok highlighted the program’s inclusive vision, noting, “Anyone who loves the game and wants to build their own community—regardless of whether they are a major streamer—can become a Partner.”

To encourage the founding of new Kingdoms, two powerful transfer systems will also be introduced. The first is the Partner’s Server Invitation Transfer Ticket, granted directly by the Kingdom’s Lord; in addition to the initial allocation, the Lord can distribute extra tickets to friends, guild members, or community members via in-game mail. The second is the Special Transfer Ticket, which will be sold to all Warriors for a limited time, opening the door of opportunity for players seeking a fresh challenge.

The authority of those who govern a kingdom as a Partner will also be significantly expanded. Wemade has announced that the ‘Powers of the Lord of Valhalla’ will be gradually updated starting in November, pledging to support players in creating a unique culture and identity for their communities through strategy and unity.

A Partner’s Server-exclusive content roadmap was also unveiled. The Duel Server Battle, scheduled for the November 25th update, is a system that allows players to freely challenge other servers to duels and test their strength in battle.

'Sindri's Lost Treasure Island,' to be added in the December update, is a raid content where servers compete for an island where the treasures of Sindri, the Norse mythology’s greatest blacksmith, are hidden. This is expected to lead to a tactical mind game depending on whether players aim for the fierce competition of the large island or the lower resistance of the small island. Additionally, Partner’s Island and Special Boss Raid events, accessible only to Partner Servers, will be provided for a temporary break from inter-server competition.

The powers held by Partners have also been considerably expanded. Starting November 11th, Partner-Exclusive Server Transfer will allow Partners operating multiple kingdoms to move freely between their servers, and from November 18th, gWEMIX Regional Distribution will enable them to distribute gWEMIX in specific regions to boost morale and encourage participation.

From November 25th, the Sub-Partner (Bishop) Appointment and Dismissal function will be added, and in December, the Declaration of Valhalla (Absolute Authority) system will be introduced, allowing the Lord to proclaim powerful server-wide buffs such as 'PvP Focused' or 'PvE Focused' modes.

Another key direction emphasized by Wemade is the healthy evolution of the inter-server PvP system. Seok stated, “A true PvP battlefield is not a lawless wasteland, but a place where honorable competition and strategic cooperation prevail—not reckless PK.”

To this end, a sophisticated matching system is being developed that considers the growth level of each server. The Inter-Server Boss and Server Field Boss were introduced in the November 18th update to serve as strategic objectives, rather than mere hunting grounds.

However, to prevent chaos caused by indiscriminate PK, Wemade is considering applying the Sincerity System to the inter-server environment. The system would impose lighter penalties than those in regular fields, while removing them during official competitive periods such as the Inter-Server Boss Event. Seok emphasized the importance of balancing cooperation and competition among players, stating, “A kingdom cannot stand alone; it can grow into an empire only through diplomacy and warfare with other kingdoms.”

This update to YMIR Global reflects an intention to enhance the autonomy of existing game communities while also promoting the long-term stability of the game’s ecosystem. It demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a delicate balance between openness and regulation, freedom and order, while continuing to embrace player feedback.
